A potential first-round pick, Colorado’s Jabari Walker sat down with Hoops Prospects before the start of this season. He discussed many topics, including the outlook for the 2021-22 Buffs, his personal goals for his sophomore campaign, his father Samaki (a former Los Angels Laker), March Madness, shattering backboards, and ping pong.
Last season, Walker earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors, averaging 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game as a reserve. The 6-foot-9 forward was one of the most efficient players in the conference, averaging 21.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per 40 minutes, while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and 52.3 percent from deep.
The 19-year-old Walker is a full-time starter this season, and so far, he is averaging 15.5 points and seven boards per game, leading Colorado to a 3-1 start.
